RP celebrates 10 years of co-operation with the University of Hertfordshire

RP Aero Systems operates a programme for Professional Placement, and has given a number of students valuable experience every year since 2006, over twenty young engineers have taken advantage of the programme and have since graduated. Most have moved on to significant success with major companies in aviation or motorsport, and many have returned to RP as full time employees.

Professional placement learning generally comprises the third year of a four-year sandwich degree programme. In order for the student to be awarded a sandwich degree he or she must successfully complete a minimum duration of 48 weeks of approved professional training, normally conducted after completion of level 5 (second year) and prior to the start of level 6 (final year) and verified by the student’s Company Mentor.

RP also supports Formula Student by providing facilities and components to the car build programme under our Raceprep brand, and has been key to UH Racing vehicle manufacture for the last six seasons. This year’s results show UH Racing 9th out of over 100 competing universities.

Investing in young engineers is essential for the health of the UKs manufacturing sector, and RP Aero Systems is pleased to be part of the process.
